NIGHTCLUBBING
In 2002, Matthew Quiet and Genevieve Dellinger met on the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Genevieve was playing in the seminal freak folk band Jackie-O-Motherfucker while Matthew had been exhaustively collecting techno and house records. 4 years later they would run into each other again in Portland, OR, and eventually get married.
Their common interest in weird outsider pop music and house parties would lead them to form as DJ duo Linger&Quiet, and start their renowned NIGHTCLUBBING party in 2007 at Portland's famed Holocene. Inspired largely by Beats in Space and Optimo, the night's humble roots have developed into the epicenter of a blossoming local scene of psychedelic, basement level house music. Their monthly podcast (www.lingerandquiet.com) has come to define the Portland sound and spread their reach far beyond the Pacific Northwest.
